Meredith Rudh—Motivation Tips Ask the Experts – UHC TV Here’s a question from a viewer, what are some tips to stay motivated while exercising? Well, my first suggestion would be to set goals. Make sure that your goals are attainable. You can start by setting short-term goals, something that you can reach in 3-6 weeks and then setting long-term goals, something that you want to achieve within a year. Just make sure that they are achievable so that you don’t’ get discouraged. You could also try grabbing a workout buddy or joining a group exercise class to hold you more accountable. If you prefer to workout alone, try adding new songs to your playlist or grab a book or magazine to help keep you motivated throughout your workout. You can also try hiring a trainer to also hold you accountable and to keep you motivated. Another think you can do is making sure you change up the variety of your workout. So, changing the duration and the intensity and trying something new, maybe going outside for a bike ride or a run or getting off they typical treadmill or elliptical and trying a rowing machine or a strength training workout. So anything you can do to kind of mix up your routine with friends or by yourself is a great way to stay motivated.
