How do you make green smoothies? – UHC TV
So, someone asked me about green smoothies. I’ve been hearing a lot about those these days. What are they, and how do I make them? Yes. Green smoothies are kind of everywhere now. They are really good. They’re nutritious. They’re fun to make. They’re a great color, and I’ve been doing them a lot. I’m going to show you how to do them in a basic way. Of course, as in any smoothie, you can change it up how you like.
The basic one that I do is I’m going to use this little blender, but you can use a regular blender—anything you’ve got that will whip it up is just fine. Just to demonstrate I’m using this little one. So, I take a banana, and I’m going to break that up into here. It’s really simple. Into that, I’m going to add a little bit of frozen mango becaue I love it. It’s really fun to add frozen fruit to a smoothie. You can also add ice cubes. But, if you have the frozen fruit it kind of does the job of the ice cubes but actually gives you more flavor. Put in a few pieces of frozen mango. I’m going to add almond milk. This is almond milk—which I like. You can also add yogurt or Greek yogurt—which would make a really nice creamy smoothie. Any of those works just fine. And then, the green part. That’s going to be baby spinach. So, I’m going to stick that in, and get as much in as you think you can. You can use other green, leafy vegetables of course too. Kale is popular in these or a mixture would be good too. Get as much as you can. I may add more later as I blend it. Basically, this is the basics. It’s banana, mango, almond milk, and spinach. I like the banana because it adds a lot of creaminess to the smoothie, but you could put in raspberries, strawberries, any fruit you want really that would blend well will work just fine. So, I’ve got everything in here. I’m going to cover it up. Then, I’m going to put it on my blender and go. It’s really noisy, so I’m not going to do it now. But, I’m going to show you what it looks like. Check that out. It’s beautiful. It’s so thick and creamy, and it’s really tasty. Trust me, the spinach does not add a funny flavor at all. It really adds no flavor. It just adds some nice vitamins and minerals and makes it this great color. Have fun with smoothies. Try them out, and add the greens.
